About
Disability Moving Assistance (DMA) was created to close a critical gap in housing support: the cost of moving.
Our founder witnessed a disabled older adult drain her savings and max out credit cards just to afford a necessary move—because there was no other help out there. That experience revealed a systemic problem. While affordable or accessible housing may be available, upfront costs like movers, truck rental, and storage often prevent disabled residents living on fixed incomes from relocating safely.
DMA provides targeted, financial assistance to low-income disabled and aging Americans to remove these barriers. 90% of funds go directly to vendors, ensuring accountability and measurable impact.
We believe housing stability begins with the ability to move safely, affordably, and with dignity.

For the nearly the last decade, Ericka has been a fierce advocate and organizer for Disability Rights. From committing civil disobedience at the United States Capitol to saving a local bus stop, she believes no act is too small and disabled lives are worth living and fighting for.
She has a particular passion for squashing the institutional bias that forces disabled people into nursing institutions or "Chronic Homelessness" every day. It was in her work with Independent Living Centers across the country, she was able to see all the gaps where the current systems were letting disabled people slip by unserved.
